1872 - the Bethnal Green Museum opens on the site

1974 - the museum is repurposed and opens as the V&A Museum of Childhood

2003-2006 - the museum closes for structural repairs

2019-2023 - a three-year renovation begins

2023 - after a major renovation the site reopens as the Young V&A
