Drinking Fountains and Pumps

Although drinking wells have been used for centuries, many of which would later have pumps fixed to them, it wasn't until 1859 that the 'Drinking Free Drinking Association', in 1859 was set up to provide fresh drinking water for the masses.

In 1867 it became he 'Metropolitan Drinking Fountain and Cattle Trough Association'.
