Blue Plaque: 'Danger Mouse'

"He's the greatest, he's fantastic, wherever there is danger he'll be there.

He's the ace, he's amazing, he's the strongest, he's the quickest, he's the best."

I had heard rumours that a Blue Plaque had been affixed to a pillar box, in London, showing where Danger Mouse lived. So, off we went.

Turning right, out of Baker Street station, we crossed Baker Street and headed northwards. As we approached Melcombe Street we could see the pillar box with the Blue Plaque, directly across from us. So, we crossed Melcombe Street and took some photos. This was probably the easiest hidden gem that we had tried to discover, as we found it instantly.

Brief History

Danger Mouse was a British animated series that aired in 1981. It followed the exploits of Danger Mouse and his reluctant assistant and sidekick, Penfold, as they fought to foil the plans of Baron Silas Greenback.

Although Danger Mouse was supposed to live near 221B Baker Street he was more of a spy in the mould of James Bond or Danger Man, than a Detective like Sherlock Holmes.

The show ran from 1981-1992 and had a reboot in 2015.
